Arusha City is a Tanzanian city and the regional capital of the Arusha Region. This city is Located below Mount Meru on the eastern edge of the eastern branch of the Great Rift Valley making the region experience comfortable weather all year round.
Arusha tends to be visited more by tourists as it is the gateway to the northern safari circuit to Serengeti, Ngoro Ngoro, Lake Manyara, Tarangire, and Arusha National Park. Arusha Cultural Heritage
– Pick up from the hotel and drive to Arusha cultural heritage, A place where the culture and creativity of Tanzania’s more than 120 tribes are gathered together, the Arusha Cultural Heritage Centre features a collection of carvings, gemstones, and artifacts, clothing, jewelry, and books. Established in 1994, the center is popular among visitors looking for souvenirs, including beads, precious and semi-precious jewelry, spices, antiques, and wood carvings. Among the stones offered by the center, guests will find rubies, emeralds, tsavorite, diamonds, sapphires, and opals, as well as tanzanite – a rare violet stone indigenous to the country. The center also showcases artworks, such as sculptures, contemporary art, and paintings from local and international artists. The tour will take 2 hours
Arusha National Museum
-Drive to Arusha National Museum it’s permanent exhibition depicts Pre – Colonial and Colonial history, telling how the Tanganyika people struggle for independence, the formulation of the policy of self-reliance, and the development of Tanzania after the Arusha Declaration. You will use 1 hour
Central Market ‘’Soko Kuu’’
-you will walk to the central market it’s about 8 minutes walking from Arusha national museum, The Central Market is one of the best places to get a glimpse of Tanzanian life, and offers a total assault on the senses. Locals will try everything to be your tour guide (for a fee) and traders are intent on making a sale, so have your wits about you and prepare to barter. There’s a lively atmosphere and various stalls of exotic fruit, coffee, nuts, and spice, the market is near the bus station. It is best to just lose yourself between hustle and bustle. The visit will take 1 hour our driver will pick you up and drive for lunch at Kitamu cafe.
Maasai Market Curios and Craft
-you will proceed with a visit to the Masaai market it’s a great place to find every souvenir you would need/buy from Tanzania to take home as a gift, you will have many choices and face competition! Put it to good use, don’t be wary of walking away from the deal, another will present itself in the next shop, It can be a bit overwhelming because there is so much stuff to see. Vendors would hand you a medium size basket indicating that you may put the stuff you want in the basket as you continue to look around in their store. You will have enough time for shopping. Later drive and drop off to your lodge/hotel
