Overview
The Selous Game Reserve in Tanzania is the largest protected area in the world, covering an area of around 50,000 sq. km. Its size is stunningly bigger than some countries, uninhabited and with little human interference. Visitors can find themselves in a pristine wilderness, far away from the trodden tourist routes.
ITINERARY
Day 1: Dar es Salaam
Pickup up from Dar es Salaam International Airport and transfer to city center hotel. Overnight upon request.
Day 2: Dar es salaam– Selous Game Reserve
After breakfast, Flight from Dar to Selous (Mtemere Airstrip) or drive by Safari vehicle to Selous. Lunch at the campsite. An afternoon boat safari on the Rufiji River. At the river, you will see crocodiles, hippos and various birds in large roam across the area. Dinner and overnight at Selous River Camp or Selous Wild Camp.
Day 3: Selous Game Reserve
after breakfast, full day game drive in Selous Game Reserve. Picnic lunch at the bush. Dinner and overnight at Selous River Camp or Selous Wild Camp.
Day 4: Selous Game Reserve
After breakfast, enjoy another full day of game viewing and a walking safari near Lake Tagalala (if the road is passable). Picnic lunch to be served near the Hot Springs. Drive back to the campsite for dinner and overnight at Selous Wild Camp.
Day 5: Depart
After an early breakfast, short game drives in the morning and then drive to the airstrip to catch a flight to Dar or drive to Dar.
